The course has information from a wide range of sources including the Climate Change Committee & the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations.

There is time for reflection & discussion, & you will also be supported to develop two low-carbon actions for certification as Carbon Literate.

All slides - which are consistently highly rated as a valuable & accessible resource - are shared. Please don't share these without permission.

Since July 2025, over 100 people have been trained including
  • sustainability leads
  • sole-traders & small business owners
  • councillors
  • teachers
  • students over 18 years
  • volunteers

Comments from people taking the course in June 2026.

  • Thank you for the fantastic course. I found it incredibly insightful and informative. The delivery was also perfect. I felt very comfortable within the sessions, rather than judged for not knowing much which I had initially feared may be the case.
  • Great summing up with snappy pointers. I’m certainly more fluent when talking to family and friends. I will look at the slides & links - all the information is there. A stimulating and inspiring experience.
  • The course has helped me understand the bigger picture, including for farming.
  • Before, there were lots of things I didn’t understand clearly, Now I can see, and there’s more to research. It was absolutely great learning and your method of teaching was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
  • I realised a lot of things I do aren’t sustainable, and I’ve learned ways to improve without having a negative impact on me.
  • Genuinely transformed how I think about climate change. Really helped me straighten out things and supplement things I already new, and gave me a new perspective which allows me to be more positive even while understanding the scale of the issue. I found the first session such a positive experience - really fun as well as super informative.
  • I feel educated & informed, and my own thinking has moved forward. I can get excited about using my skill set to influence others.
  • I’ve gone from thinking wanting to be sustainable was just a ‘quirk’ of mine, to an awareness of the science and how we can scale things back to get to a safer place.
  • I realised I’m already doing a lot and I now have the tools to back this up with evidence and facts. Increased my confidence hugely and is a good starting point to investigate more. I’m fired up and feeling passionate to make people aware of what they can do. I know what I can do on an individual bases and am more focussed.
  • Hugely informative training. I’ve learnt so much and now feel empowered to go and seek out further information and resources.
  • The power of small choices - there are things we can do to prevent us feeling hopeless.
  • Thank you for such an exciting and informative course - really enjoyed it.
  • I’m more equipped to have conversations about reducing our impact.
  • It's been wonderful indeed. I've learned so much.
  • Definitely will help with conversations with friends, family and at work.
  • Very helpful, and I can put on my CV to help with my career change.
  • Thank you so much for an amazing Carbon Literacy course which I enjoyed enormously and found very educational, not to say eye-opening! Everyone had some & varied knowledge that was so useful to the rest of the group, alongside the trainers vast understanding of a vital subject.
  • It was a great course and I really enjoyed your delivery! I think your balance of information and positivity was spot on!
  • I was already Carbon Literate, but it was well worth redoing. I was pleased to see the progress I’ve made on my own carbon footprint, and I feel much more confident about delivering the training in small sized chunks - even if it isn't as a formal course.
  • It’s one thing to study the environment academically as I have done, but this course helps to see the big picture, and also with communication to others. Such a powerful course.
  • I’ve been hesitant in broaching conversations because I can get too passionate, This course has shown me the value of being empathic and having a proper conversation, not a fact-giving session.
  • I’m looking forward to my group low-carbon action, with it’s focus on the positive, not the doom and gloom.
  • My footprint was higher than I thought, and I can now see areas I can improve, not just for me, but the ripple effect. I’m also more comfortable to talk about taking action now.
  • It was quite (too?) detailed in places, although some of the framing has been helpful.
  • It highlighted how to make changes at an individual level, and how to make the topic relevant to others on an everyday level.
  • I’m more confident I’m on the right track. It increased my understanding and deepened my commitment. Our actions will have an impact.
  • The course was very well designed and successfully navigated the difficult balance between providing information and inspiring motivation for a diverse audience.
  • Very useful. Thank you. I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve known about the doom and gloom for a long time, but sharing this this doesn’t get others to act. I’m now more confident to talk in a way that does inspire others to take actions.
  • Helped more than I expected - it’s not just for gaining a certification. I was very invested from start to finish and will make a change in my actions. It was worth my time.
